Director of Marketing and Communications

Ebenezer Healthcare Access is seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing and Communications to lead our communications strategy and expand our organizational impact. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven professional passionate about advancing health equity for immigrant and underserved communities.

In this role, you will design and execute a comprehensive communications plan to enhance Ebenezer’s visibility, engage our community, and support program growth. You will manage both internal and external communications, create multilingual materials, and build partnerships at local, state, national, and global levels. You will work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure all communications align with Ebenezer’s mission and vision.

Ebenezer Healthcare Access is a nonprofit dedicated to helping immigrant and refugee populations navigate the healthcare system. We provide culturally responsive support, educational resources, and community outreach to improve healthcare access and outcomes. Our clients speak a variety of languages, including English, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Tigrinya, Amharic, Somali and others

We partner with county health departments, local health systems, academic institutions, and faith-based organizations to address social determinants of health. As a designated Community Care Coordination Agency in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton, Ebenezer plays a vital role in connecting underserved populations to essential care and resources.

 

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Outreach

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy.
  • Design culturally and linguistically appropriate brochures, posters, and educational resources.
  • Produce multilingual videos and materials to support healthcare navigation.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, interviews, and advertising opportunities.

Digital & Print Communications

  • Oversee Ebenezer’s website, social media platforms, email campaigns, and newsletters.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of the E-newsletter for stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Ensure brand consistency and messaging across all platforms.

Partnerships & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to cultivate relationships with local, state, national, and global partners.
  • Engage with local media and community organizations to amplify Ebenezer’s mission and impact.
  • Support fundraising and grant development initiatives through strategic communications.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Supervise communications staff, contractors, or volunteers as needed.
  • Track and analyze communication metrics to evaluate effectiveness and guide improvements.
  • Stay current with best practices in nonprofit communications, healthcare advocacy, and multicultural outreach.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or public relations (nonprofit or healthcare experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to create culturally and linguistically responsive communication materials.
  • Strong content creation skills (digital, video, print); proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Proven experience in media relations and partnership development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Multilingual proficiency highly valued (particularly Swahili, Kinyarwanda, French, Arabic, Tigrinya, Spanish, Russian, or Ukrainian).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
